Valentine's Day Parties

Reagan sure enjoyed her first real Valentine's Day Party. She was thrilled to receive so many cards and candies from friends! She was so excited to share with everyone when she got home, and she kept saying "they all gave me candy!".

Whitney's Valentine party was bitter-sweet. It was the last day for her at her beloved Florence Elementary. We already have plans to return for class picture day and for the end of the year party. She was about ready to cry when the class presented her with an autograhed dog. Her quick thinking funny friend Justin could tell that she was sad and he immediately drew her attention to where HE HAD SIGNED the dog...on the rear-end. That led to lots of laughs and great comic relief!

Blayne missed his party. He was having some stomach issues, and had to go home early...he seemed absolutely fine when I came home to get him...I mean, he was jumping up and down and making Bryan laugh crawling under the stroller being CRAZY! argh!

Whitney said it was going to be the worst Valentine's Day ever, but I quickly reminded her that the worst day would be to go to her new school and the first day to be on Valentine's Day! How awful would that be to go to a new place and not get any Valentines. We are slowly making a transition to our new school.

House Update

Well, we were supposed to close a week and a half ago on the new house, then last week, then today and now it is tomorrow...hopefully, probable, but TOMORROW. I am so ready for this part to be over. We go for our final walk through tomorrow and then we go close. God is teaching me a hard lesson in patience......

Party Favor

Reagan (who is FOUR) attended a birthday party of a friend on Sunday. This is a friend from school that she really likes. The party was at a local store called "Girly Girl". The girls got to dress up, get their hair and nails done AND they get make-up put on! They also enjoyed a time of walking the catwalk modeling their clothing and hair. And, Reagan REALLY enjoyed doing the Karaoke Machine and I was a bit embarrassed that she knew ALL of the words to the teeny-bopper songs! We sang happy birthday, did cake and presents and were given our favors as left...why or why did I not have my camera????
THIS is what she got as her favor along with make up and nail polish....BOY have times changed!

Whitney the Girl Scout

Whitney has really enjoyed being a part of Girl Scouts this year. She us currently selling cookies and has a real knack at being a salesperson. We had to man two tabletops this week. One was at a Tom Thumb grocery store that received heavy traffic...well, most days it does...our particular day was bad because there was a gas leak in front of the store on the major roadway!!!! The roads were shut down pretty much. We had a lot of sympathy purchases and probably got high sniffing the fumes for three hours, but we made the best of it. Our second table top was as Wal-Mart. It was a very busy location. She enjoyed selling to crowds of people and we even had some people come JUST to buy cookies because I had put it on my Facebook page. While we were there, an elderly lady had to be taken by ambulance because she was having chest pains! It happened at the "Grocery" side, where our friends, The Heberts, were set up and selling cookies. During the chaos, their order form blew into the parking lot...CRAZY times! Whitney has now sold more than 225 boxes of cookies. Our sales time is coming to a close. It has been a lot more stressful than I anticipated!!! Her siblings have all used their own money to purchase cookies from her...sweet. And, we sent boxes to John's cousin, Chris, who is serving in Afghanistan. We do a program called Troop to Troop where people can purchase cookies and the GSA will be sending the boxes over to our military. Whitney was very concerned that (A) Chris' group might not get sent any packages and (B)That Chris would not get to PICK his cookies that he would receive, so we sent him a message, got his order from he and his fellow soldiers and now we are sending what he WANTS and more to share!!!!
Whitney, being in Girl Scouts, has brought back many memories of my scouting days with some of my dearest friends. It has been a good opportunity for her!
