Bunny Rescue

Seems like these things always happen at a bad time! We were rushing around getting ready for school, breakfast, clothes, brushing teeth and hair, me making lunches and looking for Whitney's misplaced shoe when...."Mooooooommmmmm!!!!" Whitney was screaming and Savannah was already out the door! One of our cats was pouncing on a baby bunny! Savannah rescued it. Everyone was excited, and then Daddy told them that he would need to be returned to the forest, and surprisingly, they were fine with that....We snapped some quick pictures, and yes, got everyone dressed (Blayne is sporting his new Star Wars undies in the photo), and we rushed off to school. I was met by a LONG line at school, but hopefully everyone made it to their classes on time!

Busy Saturday

We had a very busy Saturday. John spent most of the morning working on our well. We have had problems with it not holding correct pressure. Since it serves us and some neighbors, it was important that he get it fixed!!!! He and Reagan ran errands purchasing parts for the repair. She took her "Chocolate Baby" with her dressed in the new baby clothes that she got last weekend for her birthday. John said that she was so cute carrying her baby into the stores and taking care of her.
Savannah had a birthday party to attend at noon at a waterpark. Then, in the afternoon, we had a wedding to attend. A sweet lady that attended our Home Fellowship from church was getting married! We attended her 70th birthday this summer in Granbury!!! She was marrying a friend that she has known since early grade school! It was a very sweet service. She had asked John to lead the congregation in singing, and read some scriptures. She requested "He's Got the Whole World in His Hands" and "How Great Thou Art". Reagan sat with me, Blayne and Whitney and enjoyed singing and watching the service. Carole's many grandchildren and other children that she has helped people to adopt were a part of the service. We attended the reception at the Southlake Senior Center and ate yummy cake and ice-cream floats!

After the reception, we headed to Libby's 5th birthday party....it was a Cinderella Party!!! We enjoyed seeing her on her special day and seeing all of her family. She is a miracle girl and I am sure that there have been days that her sweet family has thought that she might not be here for a 5th birthday. She continues to thrive and be healthy. She is a sweetheart!

We then attended John's company outing last night at the same local waterpark that Savannah had gone to the birthday party earlier in the day!!! The kids had a BLAST!

We took some friends with us....they have twins that are between Whitney and Savannah's age....

and a fun little guy that is Blayne's age....

The Symphony

Last night, we took the girls to see the Ft. Worth Symphony. John got great tickets from work, so we enjoyed a night out with our girls in downtown Ft. Worth. Nana (John's mom) came to keep Blayne and Reagan so that our free tickets remained free and we didn't have to pay a babysitter! It was a nice time of enjoying some culture and hearing some beautiful music. The girls seemed to enjoy it too!

Grandpa's Birthday

Grandpa with all of his Grandkids Spring Break 2009

Grandpa (my daddy) with his two favorite kids and wife (my mom) Linda around 1980

Happy Birthday Grandpa!!!!

First Day of School

Bee bought them all of their first Day of School outfits! They were dressed for success!

Well, it happened. I now have THREE kids in school full time. Kind of weird for me....I spent a good part of the day volunteering in Blayne's class. His teacher requested help for the first two weeks of school and nobody signed up for today or tomorrow. Whew. I forgot how helpless kindergarteners can be!!!! I took pictures this morning....they all took gifts to their teachers. John took Savannah and Reagan and I took Blayne and Whitney. Blayne made Reagan give his flowers to the teacher; he was to embarrassed! Whitney was walking on cloud nine with excitement. She LOVES school. They all had a GREAT day and we will get a full report tonight as we go to dinner to celebrate the first day of school. Oh, one more thing....I picked up Blayne and Whitney from school and it was a madhouse. People were driving on the wrong side of the road, pulling around other people and doing what looked like "chicken" on the road! Crazy people....I had my camera handy so I took some pictures for you!

Last Night of Summer

We celebrated our last night of summer with the Packwood Family last night with a pool party and "breakfast for dinner"....yummy! What a great way to end the summer.

Reagan's Family Birthday Party

Today was Reagan's Family Birthday Party combined with her cousin, Emily. We enjoyed going to Mammaw's home and swimming in her community pool and partying in her clubhouse! Reagan was so excited. It was fun to see her so excited about it being "her" birthday! She was very excited about her presents and swimming with her cousins and her friend, Libby! We had a luau theme, and my sister-in-law, Cheryl, went ALL out with the decorations. John, as always, was so helpful; between helping get the food ready, transporting all of our stuff and watching kids in the pool while all the other adults stayed in the A/C for a while....he is a Super Dad! We enjoyed yummy food and a great cake for dessert along with Limbo and a pinanta!!! It was a fun day. We are all pooped!

Meet the Teacher

Tonight was Meet the Teacher at the elementary school. I was nervous. BOTH of my kids got WONDERFUL teachers. Blayne's teacher is new to our school and seems really sweet, plus she is really pretty....I hope that he will be able to concentrate on his work!!!! Whitney's teacher is a wonderful seasoned teacher that has great organizational skills, great control of the class, but does not raise her voice or speak disrespectfully to the kids! And the icing on the cake is that two of her favorite friends, Ella and Maggie, are IN her class!!!!! So Whitney is beside herself with excitement and at bedtime tonight she told me that she wished that she had a time machine so that she could make school start tomorrow instead of Monday!
***I have had a comment and two e-mails that have asked about SAVANNAH. Please note that I am not showing favoritism!!!! She would not ALLOW me to take her picture with her 6th grade teachers . She has three different teachers, and I got to see and speak to them for about 30 seconds each. They seem nice, but I know nothing about them. The Intermediate school is much different than the family friendly elementary school! Savannah is THRILLED to have one of her favorite friends, Mandy, in her POD....not the same class, but right next door and they will cross paths often. AND she really perked up last night when Ella's mom told her that she is in the POD that doesn't have much homework! Sweet!

Funny License Plate

Saw this yesterday and had Savannah take a picture. I guess according to us, this is NOT true!

Girls' Night Out with DBU Girls

Me, Tracy Fortsch, Myrandi Ballesteros, Ginger Vassar & Katryna Ross
I enjoyed a Girl's Night Out with some of my friends from DBU last night. It is nice to have friends that you can get together with and it is like no time has passed! Our friend, Ginger, has moved to NYC and started a church, so we all like to hear her stories about her adventures in the city with THREE kids. She is going to be on the Rachel Ray show in September, so I will try to remember to post so you can watch her. The show is about germs and raising kids in the city! I realized this morning when I was looking at this picture we will have 16 kids between the 5 of us and including our other friend, April, that couldn't make it, it will be 19 kids! We are populating the Metroplex and NYC!!!!

Nana's Birthday

Monday was Nana's birthday, so we invited Nana and Pappaw to come to our house for supper. Again, Savannah got to make a cake and decorate it. We served "gas station" hamburgers. There is a local gas station that has a wonderful grill inside...not to be confused with the OTHER gas station restaurant!!! We had such a nice visit. The burgers were good and Savannah's cake was yummy!
