Our Principal is a Good Sport

Our school district has made a lot of cutbacks with our current economical situation. One of the biggest cutbacks at our elementary school was that our librarian was given NO BUDGET this year! She was not able to purchase new books or do any extra programs for the year. Well, a clever PTA mom came up with the idea that we do a fundraiser. The students were allowed to purchase strips of duct tape and tape our principal, Mr. Martin, to the flagpole!!!! As of yesterday, the monies raised were well over $1k and I know that they sold more than that today. Mr. Martin had a great attititude about the fundraiser and was a good sport! He was taped to the flagpole for nearly an hour!!!! The students got to come by and see him and add more tape!!!! I was there to see some of the tape application and the removal of the stool so that he was suspended in the air and the cutting down of the principal! What a great way to support our school!!!!
