My Aunt Judy invited me to come to her house, bring Bryan, and scrapbook for a weekend in her little scrapbook house that is nestled in her backyard! What a treat! I got to enjoy being pampered with yummy meals, sleeping in, and I got lots of work done on Bryan's book...almost current! It was a nice time of visiting with cousins and just taking a break from my REAL life! Thank you Aunt Judy and Uncle Freddie!

Four Month Check Up
Bryan weighed 14.6 pounds and was 25 1/4 inches long at his check up. He is in the 50th percentile in weight and 75th in height. He did great and just cried out briefly for the shots. But how can one cry too much when you have Reagan there to make you smile???

Spring Break Trip to Longview
This week, I packed up the five kids and headed to Longview for 4 days to visit my parents. The kids LOVE to go to Longview and experience a different way of life. My parents live on a unique piece of property with a pond and wooded areas. The kids love to fish and on this trip they got to paddle around in the pond in Grandpa's one man boat! We also took a trip to the GOAT FARM that we went to last year that is owned by one of my childhood friend, Marie's, parents. I have known Marie since the 2nd grade and I will tell you that she is the same today as she was when she was 7 years old! Most people change in life, some for the good, some for the bad, but Marie is still that friendly sweet girl that I met all of those years ago! She has a smile and a laugh that is contagious! It is fun to see us all grown up and let our kids get to know one another. We even took them to the local Dairy Queen that we used to frequent when we were younger. Her boys are precious. They gave my kids a tour of the farm and we also went to their house where the kids enjoyed the wonderful weather outside and Blayne got to play some Wii! Back at my parents' house we got to do a campfire and make yummy smores. Bee was excited about the Basketball tournament this weekend and kept up with her bracket. The girls got to enjoy some late night basketball games from their comfy bed in the living room. We ate out at a couple of our favorite local restaurants and just enjoyed the slower pace of life. I couldn't believe all of the skunks that I saw dead on the road between their house and here and I was surprised to find it SNOWING when I got home...I mean, 73 degrees one day, and 37 the next, yep...that is Texas!!! Great memories were made this week. I hope that my kids will remember these times for a lifetime!
Here is a look at our day with Marie and her Boys
And a fun time at the campfire making smores
***You will notice that Whitney is wearing the same green pants in the pictures...she forgot to pack more pants! I let her pack her own clothes...hmmmm!

Madonna Portraits with Bryan
Well, I mentioned the pictures that I had made with Bryan. My sweet friend, Judy, lost several days of her life working on taking and editing pictures of Bryan and me. He was not a cooperative subject and well, she just had to do the best she could when it came to working with me! We laughed sooo much. Her cats really thought the photo set was for them...and even her doggie got in on a few shots. Judy bought more equipment and even went to a flea market to find a wicker chair for us to use! Judy is very creative and a wonderful artist. I am amazed at what she was able to do considering how our THREE photo shoots went....here's a glimpse!
And here is a look at the final product!

Mother Baby Photos
Well, if you have ever been to our house, you know that I ALWAYS have a mother baby picture made of myself with the babies. I have them displayed on the wall and everyone gets to comment on how my hair-do's have changed over the years. My sweet friend, Judy, has been working with me this past week, we are attempting to get the perfect picture to add to the collage on my wall. Here is how it mostly went....
and sometimes there was some of this!
and even MORE of this!!!
He was determined to look at his own hands, or mine!!!

Katie Beth and Whitney's Family Party
We celebrated Katie Beth and Whitney's birthdays today. It was a fun time of togetherness! We had 13 kids there. The girls got lots of fun things! As a bonus, Uncle Ken (from Tennessee) and Aunt Rosie (from Arkansas) were in town and got to attend the party.

Simple Things
Sometimes life gets so busy that it is hard to slow down and notice and appreciate the simple things. We are trudging along with school, church activities and ball practices....well, and our normal activities of life. I find it difficult to spend good quality time each day with my kiddos, and it makes me sad. They are growing and changing so fast, and I want to slow down and savor even the small things...an example was this morning, John made pancakes and when Blayne asked him where the sausage was, John told him we were out. Blayne asked if he could write it down on our on-going grocery list that hangs on the fridge...John said sure...this is what he wrote...spelled EXACTLY how he pronounces it.

Sweet Smiling Boy
Bryan is 3 months old and such a happy baby. He is belly laughing now and smiling big smiles all the time. He has started sucking his index and middle fingers. I try to replace them with his pacifier, but he loves to suck on them! He is getting chubby and he LOVES his brother and sisters!

My dad was taking her away for the weekend, and we tried to call her to wish her Happy Birthday...just got the voicemail on the cell phone, and the day is almost to a close. This might be the first time that I have missed wishing her HAPPY BIRTHDAY on the actual day, well, atleast since 1973!!!! So Happy Birthday Momma...in case you are on-line checking my blog from the hotel...ha!

End of the Season Party
Whitney's Basketball Team, The Lady Penguins, had their last game on Saturday. Before the game, we had an end of the season party. It has been fun this year to watch Whitney make progress on the team. The scored a few points in the last two games! She looks like she has springs in her legs when she is on the court and almost like she is dancing. She bounces up and down! It is so cute. I loved having Ted as our coach this year. We have known him since back in the DBU days. Our girls have grown up together. Ted' wife, Beth, made these adorable cupcakes for the party.
