Okay My Prayer Warriors....

I would like to ask that you pray for the Hafer Family. Penni and I met through my friend and college roommate, April. I have scrapbooked with Penni and been at dinner parties with her. She lived here in Keller and has many connections with friends at our elementary school. She now lives in Austin. Two nights ago, their family was getting ready to head out to dinner to celebrate her older son's birthday. Her youngest son, Reed, was first to the car, and ran back in to get his Daddy to show him something. Upon returning to the car, he pointed under the tire of the car, and that is when a RATTLESNAKE struck him and bit him on the index finger. They had to call Careflight to have him transported to the hospital, as it was rush hour time in Austin (worse than here!!!). The hospital had to verify the bite before mixing the anit-venom as it is a $40k medicine!!!! It took over an hour to get it started. He is stable, keeping entertained with toys and such, but as you can see from the pictures, his hand is very swollen and purple. She said today that his right side is very swollen compared to his left side. Please pray for complete healing and that he will not lose function in that hand or have other complications from the bite. The Hafers have four children, and Reed is #3. The do have a live-in nanny so they have childcare in their home for the other kids. I have only seen Reed once, and he is a real charmer and from what I hear a "pistol"! He had a reaction to the pain medication and had to be restrained by his parents until Benadryl could be administered. So keep Brian and Penni (parents) in your prayers and they sit bedside with some fear and wonder as to how this will all turn out!!!!
