First Day of School

Well, it was dark when we got up this morning. The girls were so sweet and excited this morning about it being the first day of school. Savannah had packed her backpack, snack and part of her lunch last night. I guess she was concerned that I might not get it all done this morning. We had a yummy breakfast and I did their hair the way that they wanted it done. They got their gifts ready for their teachers and John and I wrote notes to put in their lunch boxes this morning. John is going to take Savannah to school every day since her school starts earlier and it is in the opposite direction. I will be running carpool again this year with the Packwoods. Whitney was so cute at school. She told me to wait for her while she went to "hang out" with her friends in the auditorium before the bell rang. The auditorium is a right of passage for 2nd graders. Prior to that, you have to wait in the cafeteria at assigned tables. She looked all grown up and was so happy to be starting school. John said that things went well at the Intermediate school and that Savannah got her locker opened on the FIRST try this morning. I was excited to hear a "hey!" as I walked through the parking lot. There, standing with our PE teacher, was a sweet, sweet, girl from church who is going to be student teaching this semester! She will be a great addition these next 8 weeks. Here are some pictures from our morning.
