Seriously, they are a good thing to keep good law abiding citizens obeying the law. A couple of weeks ago, I got busted running a red light. I was on my way to the zoo...running late....and the light changed and I kept going in what was a "pink" light, but oops it turned red...yep oops to the tune of $75!!! So, my first traffic ticket was sent to me in the mail from a camera posted on a pole....and like my brother wrote to me on Facebook "kinda hard to sweet talk my way out of this one". If I can figure out how to copy the video, I will for your entertainment. If not, you will just have to enjoy the still shots!

Unique Wedding

I was asked to help with my friend, Beth's, brother's wedding this weekend. I have known their family since my freshman year in college. They are a dear, precious family and I was honored to be asked to help. Her brother has many artistic talented friends from all over the world. I enjoyed meeting new people and getting to observe Brad's special day. Another friend of Beth's also named Jennifer helped behind the scenes with me, and I enjoyed talking with her and gawking alongside her! We had house duty during the wedding which was held in the backyard under a 2500 sq ft tent in the pouring down rain!!! Many of the participants were tattooed and I liked looking at the tattoos and trying to figure out their significance and meaning. A man that prayed at the wedding was our former neighbor back in Euless when we bought our first house. It was neat to see him and his family. The bride's dog was in the wedding, and sported a tuxedo and everything...another one of my jobs was to snatch the dog up after the wedding photos and place him in his cage...he didn't like that so much! Jennifer and I ran clean-up duty and kid duty seeing that no can nor kid were left in the house! We also got to scape and rinse the 100+ plates from the dinner....now that is a humbling experience! The bride is a model and had picture perfect skin. I snapped some photos of them between their professional photos and just some candids. Thought you might like seeing a glimpse of me stepping out of the ordinary! Now only if someone else would have snapped a picture of me carrying the 12+bottles of champagne to the tables! That would have been a great shot!

Mommy Daughter Day

Reagan and I went to see "Cinderella" at Casa Manana. She was very concerned because Cinderella had black hair. She kept asking "where's MY Cinderella?"....was peculiar to have a raven haired Cinderella...just something wrong with that! Afterward, we went to the Botanical Gardens and enjoyed exploring and having a picnic together. It was a day of just Mommy and Reagan...we BOTH needed that!

Blayne's Apology
It does a Mommy's heart good when her children are tender to do what is right. Today at school, Blayne caught a caterpillar on the playground. Everyone was very excited about it! A boy in his class apparently ended up with what Blayne thought was his caterpillar. Blayne asked for it back and the boy would not give it to him. As they were lining up, his teacher hear the commotion of Blayne asking for his caterpillar, and when the other child would not oblige and give the caterpillar to Blayne, he was punished by having his folder signed. Later in the day another child showed Blayne that his caterpillar was on his shirt. He didn't say anything to the teacher, but after supper tonight, he talked to me about it and wanted to write Mrs. Middleton a letter. He wrote this without help. Then, he was going to erase the entire thing to add the words "in line" so I showed him we could add it like adults do! He plans to give it to the teacher first thing in the morning. I pray that the Lord will continue to work in his heart and keep him tender and convict him when he has done wrong!

Baby Bryan
I call this one "Multi-tasking"
Will he ALWAYS be called "Baby Bryan"? Maybe.
We have had some concern with Bryan's neck muscles lately. Most of the time he holds his head in a "hanging" position like this.....
A couple of weeks ago while I was at the zoo with a friend, I asked her to hold him and asked if I should be concerned...her reply "yea, I would be concerned" (thankful for honest friends!) I realized that I wasn't just imagining it, and I asked a friend that is an occupational therapist to check him out when we were at lunch and she too, shared some concern. And let me say, he sleeps on his tummy and he can roll over both ways and plays on his tummy. The concern was that he would not hold his head up when placed into a sitting position. I have also had concerns about his left eye crossing...
I had John's dad (who is a physical therapist) look at him at our family Easter gathering. He seemed to think that he was just fine. That put my mind at ease. So my last line of having him checked out was to take him to see the Packwood Doctors. He is a pediatric ophthalmologist and she is a pediatrician...so BOOM hit two birds with one stone. He did a great evaluation of Bryan's eyes using a fin app on his I-Phone. Bryan thought it was funny! Everything checked out GREAT. Then, she evaluated him and found that he has some low muscle tone in his neck area, but that there is not cause for concern, just need to do some exercises with him and encourage him along! So we have been doing sit-ups at diaper changes...him not me...actually, I ought to do some sit-ups at diaper changing, I could do LOTS everyday! Funny, how you have concerns and then POOF, just like that, all of the concern is gone!!!! I am thankful for helpful friends and for knowledgeable friends too!

Take Me Out to The Ballpark

Blayne is LOVING playing T-Ball. He earned the game ball at the 2nd game for making three outs in one inning! He does some dancing, gymnastics and even some ballet in between outs, but he is having fun and learning the game. His coach is SUPER patient, and does a great job with the boys. John says that he could NEVER coach that age! It takes someone special to deal with all of that energy for sure! Go Rangers!

Happy Easter

We enjoyed our Easter weekend. On Saturday, we got together with the Stonecipher Clan for the kids to hunt empty Easter eggs (funny how they will do that multiple times), and for us to all have supper together. There are 11 cousins now, so most of my time was spent chasing kids and most of John's time was spent washing dishes and entertaining children. One day when the kids are all big we won't know what to do with ourselves at the family gatherings. On Sunday, we attended our neighbor's annual Easter Brunch. It was a nice relaxing time. We had yummy food, the kids had a grand egg hunt; hunting eggs that Whitney and Savannah had helped to fill earlier in the week, and the weather was lovely as we sat outside among the trees. We look forward to attending this brunch every year. We enjoy meeting new people and the kids absolutely enjoy hunting the hundreds of eggs that are hidden!
