FIFTEEN YEARS....

Yesterday, was my fifteen year anniversary for graduating from Dallas Baptist University. Today is my 15th Anniversary of being married to my best friend and companion, John! Who would have thought 15 years ago, that we would have moved 4 times and had 5 children? Our life is an adventure for sure, and with the Lord as our leader, I am grateful to be on this journey with this guy who walked into my life 19 years ago! As my Daddy once said "you could drive all of the streets between Longview and Dallas and you would not find a guy as good as John"....15 years of marriage and looking forward to a life time together!

Math and Science Night

Blayne and Whitney both participated in the school math and science fair. It was a fun night. Blayne's project was showing the properties of M&M's....did you know that the M will come off and float to the top when submerged in water???? Cool!!!!
Whitney did statistics on the colors of M&M's...she titled it "Get What You Get and Don't Throw a Fit"! Bryan LOVED the Vice Principal and would laugh HARD when she was talking to him...sweet! Savannah enjoyed seeing old teachers and friends. And, Reagan, well, she just loved being there and talking to everyone! Fun Family Night.

ANOTHER snake!!!!

John killed another long snake at our house. Had to get rid of it before our latest showing...don't know if potential buyers would be real impressed with this sucker on the sidewalk!!!

Our Visit with Luke

If you remember, we gave our puppy, Luke, to a new home several months ago. He was getting into a lot of trouble here at our house....remember THIS? Well, it was so good to see Luke (who is now known as JAKE) yesterday. He lives in a beautiful area about half an hour from Jerral. He is well loved by his owners and his "sister" Josie. He gets to enjoy a pond where he retrieves his toy. The owners were so gracious to let us come out and have invited us to come anytime we want to for a visit! They even said we could come this summer and we would cook out! Now, remember we met these folks on Craigslist!!!! It did my heart well to see that Luke/Jake is in such great hands and is so happy! The kids enjoyed seeing him and I think that it was good, especially for Whitney to see him and see how happy he is in his new environment, because it was especially difficult for her to let him go! We will plan to see them again. We enjoyed meeting his new "mom and dad"!

Visit with Jerral and Dilia

We drove to McKinney yesterday to spend the day with Jerral and Dilia. We met at Babe's and had a yummy lunch. We then went to their house and visited my furry nephews and the kids got to pick a movie from their movie on demand. Dilia ventured out with Reagan to the store, and they came home with snacks and a few extra "Reagan" items. We enjoyed rootbeer floats and oreos. Dilia also bought me some flowers at the store for Mother's Day (sweet!). We enjoyed hanging out with them and relaxing. They have done some more to their house and have plans to do even more! Dilia has come a long way in her dog training education and has completed the tests part of the course. Jerral has his in home office all set up and the kids were VERY impressed that Uncle Jerral has THREE flatscreen TV's in his house...they don't realize what a gadget guy he really is! We enjoyed our time together.

Dental Appointment

I had a dentist appointment on Tuesday. I had gone last week to the dentist after a long (a-hem) LONG time of not going to the dentist. I left the appointment a little distraught, as I learned that my dental bill was going to be over $8k!!!! And that is just MY part...how depressing, and to also think how much I HATE to go to the dentist. It was a big ordeal on Tuesday because I had to have 2 root canals, 3 crowns and a small filling!!!! ALL on one side of my mouth. Xanax is a WONDERFUL drug. I was as happy as a clam to walk into that office and fork over the money and let them drill to their heart's content. I spent Monday night with my dear friend, Jan and she kept Bryan for me. John stayed home with the others and ran the carpools and came to get me as soon as I was done....and to think, I get to do this all over again in a couple of weeks...good thing I have more of those happy pills to take!!!

Oh, and I had the QUADRUPLE dentist appointment with the three big kids on Monday. ALL of them had an excellent report...no cavities...woo-hoo! We got sealants on Savannah and Blayne on some new teeth. We will be sealing ANYTHING he can seal to help prevent them having to face something like I had to this week!

Children's Musical "Out on a Limb"

The girls were in a musical at church last Sunday night. They sure enjoy being a part of the children's choir. This musical was written by a lady in our church. It was cute. Whitney sang a couple of solos and Savannah was a part of the choir. This was Savannah's last children's musical as she begins youth group this summer...how did that happen????
