Libby has some sort of infection, but they have not been able to find the cause. Gracie is frazzled. Her sitter has taken to boys up to the hospital, so hopefully, I will know something later tonight after the sitter has left the hospital. I will post something as soon as I hear and can get to the computer.
I am headed to a gathering with a professional organizer tonight. Those of you that know me well are laughing, I am sure. I think that my friend Michelle planned this JUST For me. She has her other friends coming just to make me feel better about my lack of organization.
Well, Reagan just brought me Blayne's half-eaten apple, I guess they are sharing their afternoon snack....
I will post tonight, but it will probably be LATE!

Libby is in the Hospital

Dear Blogger Friends,
Please be in prayer for Libby today. Eric and Gracie had to take her to the ER last night. She was running fever. After running LOTS of tests, they decided to put her on IV antibiotics. Her white blood count is elevated. I had plans to help Gracie pack last night. They are moving next weekend into their new house. I had some friends help me pack my kitchen and it was a real blessing, so I had offered to do that. I had Gracie's boys after school yesterday, and Libby was supposed to come too, but Gracie didn't think she was well. When I was on my way to take the boys home last night and stay to pack, Gracie called and asked me to bring my thermometer from my house. She was taking Libby's temperature with different thermometers, and they were all registering different numbers! from like 98-102.2!!!!! When I got there, just looking at Libby, you knew that she didn't feel good. When I touched her head is was HOT, but the weird thing was that she didn't seem to have fever everywhere. Her arms and legs were pretty normal, but her color looked bad and she was laying on the floor with that sick look in her eyes, like kids get! I felt so badly for her. When they left to take her in, she started crying because she knew where they were taking her. It was so sad. So, please pray that they figure out what is going on to make her white blood count high. She will have to spend at least 48 hours in the hospital. (bummer!) I will post when I hear something. Thank you to those of you that e-mail and ask about Libby now and again. There hasn't been much to post since her surgery except how GREAT she has been doing!
On a lighter note, I had to laugh last night as I was packing some of their stuff. You could tell that we got married the same year. There were lots of items that I am sure were wedding gifts, and lots of burgundy and hunter green items. We also own a lot of the same bake ware and such. A walk down memory lane as I packed!

Whitney brought home a note YESTERDAY letting us know that her art had been chosen for the district art exhibit for TONIGHT! Fortunately, we were already planning to attend the exhibit because Savannah was performing with her chime choir. We all enjoyed looking at the art that was done by students of all ages. Savannah did an excellent job with her chime choir. Our family enjoyed ice-cream after attending the exhibit. It was a good night.

Baby Shower
I mooched some pictures from my Aunt....ENJOY!!!
Today, I headed to my cousin's baby shower. I went and picked my grandmother up and we went together to the shower. She is 81 years old and she is pretty much an expert on everything (according to her)! She treated me to lunch at a Chinese Buffet place that was a converted Dairy Queen (interesting). We had a great trip there and I actually made it there without getting lost! My cousin just got married last summer and the shower was at the same location...dejavu'! Last year, I missed an important turn and had to stop and get directions. I had my mother and grandmother with me trying to help me out. So, I think that my grandmother was concerned that I would make the same mistake again; therefore, I was nervous I would make the mistake! We got there just fine. It was good to see my cousins and their kids. I didn't have my kids with me so I got to sit back and watch the other kids (not MY relatives) do things like bang on the piano, throw glass punch cups, drop fruit balls on the floor, you know the things that kids do that make you cringe...but ahhhh, they weren't my kids, so no worries here! Amber got a nice shower with a nice variety of things. I think that she is set with baby things. You know how it is with your first baby: You think that you need EVERYTHING!!! She'll learn. I also got to go to one of my cousin's houses and see his little farm. They have chickens, goats, cows, horses and a donkey. They have invited me to bring my kids up there, and boy do I think they would love it! I finally got to see my aunt's 'new' (built in 1921) house! It is so cute. She is really creative and has great taste in decorating, so she has it all set up cute and cozy. My Uncle and my three boy cousins spent the day working on a privacy fence at her house. I would have loved to have been there to watch that...to see the 4 personalities come together on the project! Fun! After a great visit with my Aunt and Uncle, my grandmother and I loaded up and headed back to her house. On the way, we stopped and she treated me to a Sonic burger. She seemed to think that I would be THRILLED to get a Sonic burger as it would be a great treat. Although Sonic is one of my FAVORITE places to go, I didn't have the heart to tell her Sonic is all around me. She made it sound like it was a place that I wouldn't get to eat at. My grandmother told me some stories from her childhood and her early days of marriage and how she almost died when she was born...she likes to tell me that one. I DID enjoy my time with her today. I laugh and make fun of her quirks, but that is what makes her my Memaw! It was nice to have some uninterrupted time with her today. As I get older, I realize that my time with her will not always be available. I need to invest in the time that I have while she is here. Sorry, but I didn't take my camera today. You will just have to read my boring writing....hey, my Aunt took some pictures, maybe I can get some from her!

High School Musical on Ice
For Christmas, we gave Savannah and Whitney tickets to High School Musical on Ice. Tonight was THE night! They could hardly contain themselves when they got home from school today. I took the girls to the Purple Cow for supper. They really enjoyed themselves there. We got to the convention center early and we looked at the souveniers and got to our seats early. When we found our seats, there were two ladies standing behind us obviously NOT happy. I soon learned that one of them had VOMIT in her seat. It was so gross. It was all over the back and the seat of the chair that she was supposed to sit in. She found and employee and told him and the man said "well, we will get someone right over to clean that". The lady quickly let him know that even if it gets cleaned, she was NOT gonna sit in that seat! I agreed. Who wants to sit on someone else' partially cleaned vomit....I wouldn't even want to sit on my own partially cleaned vomit! I tried to figure out where those ladies ended up sitting, but I never could find them. A lady came and cleaned the seat, and of course I had to take a picture. The girls were messmerized during the show. They sang a little, and the people around us sang A LOT! There were some really neat special effects and the show was very entertaining. I let them each get a souvenier and we brought Blayne back something too. Whitney kept holding up her "I love Troy" sign each time that he skated....like he was gonna see it and come say "hi"! It was a fun night. I enjoyed watching this little black baby singing and dancing near us. (I took his picture too!) Well, I am gonna go throw together a slideshow for you to see. I am pooped.

McDonald's with a Friend and a Clean Rudy=A Great Day for my 'Boys'
Today, Rudy had his appointment to get his shampoo and a blow out. He was so excited when I asked him "Rudy, do you want to go see Ms. Connie?" He loves that woman! He got to ride to Blayne's school with me and that was a real treat for him too. After school, I took Blayne and his buddy, Xavier to McDonald's to eat and play. His mom and I trade off having the boys come play each week. They were born on the same day and they are A LOT alike which is really enjoyable. They both LOVE video games and enjoy playing the video game that is at McDonald's. When I asked them to say "cheese" for the picture, they both said "I can't, I am playing the game"!!! Reagan enjoyed McDonald's too! She thinks that she is big stuff now that she gets to run around there. There was a toddler with a Mohawk haircut today and she kept staring at him. We got an ice-cream treat before we left. Reagan preferred to eat "ab-bowls" (apples) instead of the ice-cream. They all three played outside when we got home. They had a great time. I hope that you enjoy the pictures!

Christian Birthdays!
This is the shirt that she wore yesterday. (the verse is John 14:6)
Yesterday was both Savannah and Whitney's "Christian Birthdays". Yesterday marks one year since Whitney accepted Christ and two years for Savannah. Whitney woke up with excitement yesterday. I had laid out an outfit for her to wear and she insisted to wear her "Sola Kids" shirt. She said "it is my Christian birthday and I need to wear this shirt with this verse on it so I can tell my friends all about it. I told her that a lot of her friends will not understand what "being saved" means. She replied "oh, that is okay, I will tell them!" She is just so confident...it is awesome! So I gave her a 5 minute pep talk about maybe being criticized at school...blah..blah...I just didn't want her to be surprised if someone made fun of her. I talk to my girls often about how, as Christians, we are different. We watch different tv shows, we read different books, we don't do some of the things that some of their friends do because we know that God's word, the Bible, tells us not to. I dropped her off as she waved and smiled back at me, I prayed that God would protect her from ridicule at school. I got home and got a call from her teacher letting me know that she was not going to be at school. I was to bring her lunch yesterday for Teacher Appreciation day. My heart sank as I thought of the SUB that would be dealing with Whitney possibly witnessing to her friends!!! I went and had lunch with Whitney yesterday at school and saw her substitute. I had NEVER seen her before. She was young, and seemed to be doing really well with the class. So, when Whitney got home after playing at the Packwoods house, I asked her how her day went and if she liked her substitute teacher. She smiled and said yes. She said "Momma, I told her that it was my Christian birthday and she told me she liked my shirt and that she works at a church as a 'something' and she told me that she liked the verse on my shirt and then she told me that verse in Chinese!!! Momma she knew Chinese and she told me two other verses in Chinese...isn't that cool?" I was all filled up thinking about what a blessing it was to have THIS teacher in HER class yesterday and what a neat way for Whitney to be received on a day that she was so excited about. I so many times put limits on God. All I wanted was for her to be protected and not embarrassed or hurt at school about what she believes, and look what God did!
And, Savannah told me that she told two of her friends that yesterday was her "Christian" birthday. I was so proud of her. That is a big deal for 4th grade!!!! I am so proud of my girls for being salt and light in the world!
